The stamps are found in front of each bath house. Although the bath house tour can be done only by overnight guests, the ninth and largest of the bath houses, the “Oyu” bath house, is also open to day trippers. The Oyu is located in the center of town, and its waters are quite hot. Shibu Onsen (渋温泉) is a historic and attractive hot spring town in Yamanouchi, which has retained a traditional atmosphere.

Nestled in a small valley, Shibu Onsen is spread out on a gentle slope beside the Yokoyugawa River, with Yudanaka Onsen located below and the Jigokudani Monkey Park above. Pastor Shibu was born in a Pentecostal family in Kerala, India, to parents who served as full-time ministers. In 1991, after graduating in engineering and having begun work as a technical instructor, pastor Shibu recognized God’s calling to pursue full-time ministry.
Tawaraya Ryokan is a 10-minute drive from Snow Monkey Park and a 15-minute walk from Heiwa Kannon. Shiga Kogen Ski Resort is a 30-minute drive away. Dr. Oommen always wanted to be a family physician. He was born and raised in Sugar Land, TX, and worked in the Midwest before deciding to move back to the Lone Star State.
He quickly resigned from his job, pursued full-time evangelism and youth ministry, and was blessed with the opportunity to preach across many parts of India. In 1993, pastor Shibu moved to Bangalore, Karnataka, to establish various churches and prayer groups. He continued to travel across the nation as a revival speaker. I am very happy to have him as my primary care doctor. He has served as the major professor for 14 PhD, 36 MS students, 11 postdoctoral scientists and 21 visiting scholars during his career. He has led major interdisciplinary research projects involving agronomists, plant breeders, soil scientists, animal scientists, natural resource scientists and socio-economists.
